FREELAND FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The Freeland Flag Football League is entering it's 5th season. This league is great for those that want to get their children involved in the sport of football. Flag football is a safer alternative to tackle football, while still learning the principles of the sport. After three successful seasons of the Freeland Flag Football League we are gearing up for our most exciting season yet.
Our league is open to boys and girls ages 5-18 years old. Athletes must be the following ages by August 1, 2021. League is open to any child from any school district!
- AGE DIVISIONS -
Mini
Division
(EARLY ELEMENTARY DIVISION)
This division is comprised of athletes ages 5, 6, & 7:
This division plays 5 v 5 FLAG football. This division teaches younger players the basic concepts and general skills of football (directional awareness, basic rules, running mechanics, etc).
Junior Varsity Division
(UPPER ELEMENTARY DIVISION)
This division is comprised of athletes ages 8, 9, & 10:
This division plays 5 v 5 FLAG football. This division helps younger players build on the basic concepts learned at the Mini Division. Athletes begin to develop more intermediate skills at this level.

(JUNIOR HIGH DIVISION)
This division is comprised of athletes ages 11, 12, & 13:
This division plays 7 v 7 football. No flags, one-hand touch. This division helps develop football specific skills (routes, QB progressions, reads, etc). Made popular by the high school and collegiate levels.

(HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION)
This division is comprised of athletes ages 14 through 18:
This division plays 7 v 7 football. No flags, one-hand touch. This division helps hone on football specific skills (routes, QB progressions, reads, etc). Made popular by the high school and collegiate levels.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DAYS ARE GAMES PLAYED ON?
All league games are played on Sundays ONLY. Make up dates for games will be noted on the league schedule.
WHEN DOES IT START? HOW LONG DOES THE SEASON LAST?
The 2021 season begins on April 11 and ends June 6. Two make up dates will be added to the schedule in case of cancellations. Each team is guaranteed to play 6 games.
ARE THERE PRACTICES?
Each team will practice at least once each week. Practices are not mandatory. Most athletes that participate in this league play another spring sport.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
